Aquence Coatings

Urban Park's revolutionary Aquence® coating increases the life of your site furnishings. It doubles the rust resistance of your furniture compared to powder alone*. It is the same process that automobile manufacturers use on their vechicles to prevent rusting.

Environmental Benefits of Aquence® Coating

  1. Little or no volatile organic compounds
  2. No toxic heavy metals (No lead, chrome, zinc, or cadmium added to the coating)
  3. No electricity needed to drive the reaction
  4. No irritating solvent fumes or oven exhaust
  5. Designed to neutralize and pH balance all water products after use
  6. Less risk of worker exposure to process

Aquence® Explained

  1. Our Aquence® coating is applied through autodeposition, an environmentally sound process pioneered by Henkel Surface Technologies. It uses a series of tanks to clean and coat the steel, reaching every part, inside and out.
  2. The autodeposition process is not limited by variances in electrical energy. This means whatever it wets it will coat, giving long-term protection to the entire piece of furniture. This is superior to powder coating, as electrical energy pushes powder out of threaded parts, sharp corners and tubular structures, etc., leaving these spots immediate targets for rust.
  3. Autodeposition coating has exceptional hardness due to direct bonding of the coating, delivering improved finish appearance and superior corrosion resistance. In addition, it provides outstanding thermal stability and hardness.
  4. Aquence® paint products are water based and have very low or zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and no toxic heavy metals. They can meet all known Clean Air Legislation demands. There are no flammable or explosive chemicals in process so there is less risk of worker exposure. The process is designed to neutralize and pH balance all water products after use.

*It provides up to 2000 hours of salt spray protection and meets SAE J2334 Scribe and GM 9540P Scribe specifications.
